Subsidiary strategic influence: the role of subsidiary attention-building activities

Purpose By the view of attention-building activities as “tools power,” authors investigate impact subsidiary involvement in on strategic influence subsidiaries within multinational corporations (MNCs). Design/methodology/approach The study is based survey data from 110 international located Sweden. Five hypotheses were tested using structural equation modeling with linear relations. Findings shows that organizational commitment and external scouting activities, two do not directly affect ability to gain a MNCs. Rather, results provide support for importance headquarters’ positive attention mediator between such influence. This implies receive any through these unless they explicit corporate headquarters. Originality/value contributes micro-political MNC by offering insights into potential source subsidiaries.
